THE inaugural Goffs UK Aintree Sale was a great success, and now we are beginning to see graduates of the sale visiting the winners’ enclosure. In recent weeks Sumkindofking, Constantine Bay and Solighoster have won for Tom George, Nicky Henderson and Neil Mulholland, while closer to home Gordon Elliott saddled the Gigginstown House Stud-owned Samcro to land a bumper at Punchestown on his racecourse debut.

Describing the gelding as “a good one”, it is clear that connections think a lot of this son of Germany and he is clearly a horse for whom a bright future can be predicted. He is already a headline maker, topping the sale back in April when he realised £335,000, and this was the best price paid in 2016 for a point-to-pointer.
