Despite the best efforts of local riders at Galway County Show, victory in the Horseware/TRM National Grand Prix at Ballybrit went northwards as Peter Smyth and Corrib House took the honours in the €4,000 Ashford Farm-sponsored class.

Owned by Nigel Kenny, Corrib House is an 11-year-old Irish Sport Horse by Harlequin Du Carel and out of Coppa Leaf. Smyth has been campaigning the gelding for the past four years and they were successful in the aged classes before moving up to Grand Prix level. In 2013, the combination claimed fourth place in the Premier Series at Balmoral and sixth in Coilóg.
