SLADE Power (by Dutch Art) became the latest freshman sire to get off the mark when his Charlie Appleby-trained daughter Strings Of Life made a winning debut at Newmarket on Wednesday afternoon.

Godolphin's homebred bay is out Nashama (by Pivotal), who is a half-sister to Group 2 Great Voltigeur Stakes winner Centennial (by Dalakhani). This is a branch of the family of 1000 Guineas heroine Sleepytime (by Royal Academy).

Millionaire Slade Power won 10 of his 20 starts and his string of pattern wins were headed by the Group 1 July Cup and Group 1 Diamond Jubilee Stakes.
