COOLMORE Stud's two-year-old star and dual classic-winning miler Gleneagles (by Galileo) became the latest freshman sire to get off the mark when Mrs Fitri Hay's homebred Highland Chief made a winning debut in the opening race at Newbury on Friday.

The Paul Cole-trained colt, who is a half-brother to a couple of winners, is the fourth foal of Group 3 Give Thanks Stakes heroine Pink Symphony (by Montjeu) and is inbred 3x3 to Sadler's Wells (by Northern Dancer).

His dam is a half-sister to the Group 1-placed triple Group/Grade 3 scorer Fantasia (by Sadler's Wells), and his third dam is Blue Duster (by Danzig), the Group 1-winning full-sister to Group 1 star Zieten.
