FRONT-RUNNING tactics were again successfully employed in the Group 2 Darley Prix Kergorlay by Christophe Soumillon on the Hughie Morrison-trained Marmelo. The son of Duke of Marmalade galloped along at a sensible speed before his Belgian pilot injected pace into the race at the two-furlong marker. Marmelo had just over a length to spare over Desert Skyline, who is under the care of David Elsworth and so the British recorded another 1-2 in the 15-furlong event.

It was Marmelo’s sixth visit to France where back in May he took his first group win in the Prix de Barbeville at Chantilly where he may well be seen on his next start.
