The early pace set by front-running Ambivalent (33-pace adjusted 39) was not great but she accelerated as they rounded the turn into the straight and kicked for home. She didn’t have the pace to hold off the top class one-two in a race where the final quarter mile was run in 22.6 seconds but she kept on in her usual game fashion.

Ambivalent has won four of the six times she’s run against her own sex on fast ground over a mile and a half or less and finished a length second to a Group 1 winner in one of her losses.
