THE Curragh will offer significant increases to prize money across many races this season, working closely with race sponsors and Horse Racing Ireland.

These include a major boost this year across some of the track’s 11 Group 1 races, including record prize money for the Tattersalls Irish 1000 and 2000 Guineas, Juddmonte Irish Oaks – which will be run for €500,000 – while prize money for the Tattersalls Gold Cup will increase to €400,000.

The Curragh will again stage a series of very high-profile and very valuable premier handicaps throughout the season. A new €150,000 premier handicap over one mile, sponsored by William Hill, will feature on day one of the new three-day Tattersalls Irish Guineas Festival, while the Paddy Power Irish Lincolnshire, Paddy Power Rockingham Handicap and Paddy Power Scurry will all offer €100,000 in total prize money.
