Ash Tree Meadow

(G. Elliott)

Fairyhouse, November 27th

This winning pointer made a bright start to his career on the track when he finished a creditable third in the maiden hurdle won by Gringo D’aubrelle last Saturday.

The conclusion of this race was fought out by two smart types, and his effort in being beaten just over five lengths into third bodes well for his prospects this season.

Forest Pump

(M.J. Smith)

Fairyhouse, November 27th

Another runner from the Gringo D’Aubrelle maiden, this four-year-old caught the eye in sixth.

He was travelling very nicely turning for home and while he wasn’t able to raise his effort after a mistake at the second last he showed an encouraging level of ability. There are certainly races to be won with him.

Benkei

(H. Rogers)

Fairyhouse, November 27th

This 11-year-old has gone over three years without a win but his sixth to Broomfields Jeremy last week was a step in the right direction. His trainer excels with horses approaching the twilight of their careers so this Galileo gelding could well add to his tally as he tumbles down the ratings. (Runs at Punchestown 12.25)

Whiskey Sour

(W.P. Mullins)

Fairyhouse, November 28th

He ran well under a big weight to finish fifth in the Grade A handicap hurdle won by Gua Du Large.

His two handicap outings over timber this year would suggest that plenty of his old ability remains intact and a similar prize could be within his reach in the coming months.

Cregane Ned

(P. O’Flynn)

Clonmel, December 2nd

He won a maiden hurdle at Clonmel last March and, on his return to that track, he shaped up well on his debut over fences to finish third to Regina Dracones in the rated beginners’ chase. He can be placed to advantage to advantage as a chaser this season.
