WE are at the point in the year now where we get a handle on how the different generations compare. With the three Derbys decided, the Eclipse marks the traditional duelling point for the middle-distance horses.

Surprisingly, it’s the older generation who appear to have dodged the Sandown duel with Hawkbill and Happily probably having the best form of the older horses.
