DUAL Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe winner Treve has given birth to a Dubawi colt foal.

Trained by Criquette Head-Maarek, Treve went down in history as one of the greatest racemares of recent times. Bought by Al Shaqab Racing after winning the Prix de Diane, she won nine of her 13 races but met with defeat on her only visit to Britain, in the Prince of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot in 2014.

She bounced back to win her second Arc later that year, but had to settle for fourth to the Frankie Dettori-ridden Derby victor Golden Horn in the 2015 renewal when attempting an historic hat-trick.

Treve gave birth at Al Shaqab's Haras de Bouquetot stud in Normandy, France and manager Benoit Jeffroy said: "Treve produced a good first foal. Everything went well. She foaled late (overdue) and waited for lunchtime (on Wednesday). Treve and her foal are doing well. The next step in the story now begins, and it is hoped that this colt is as fast as his parents!"

Treve is due to visit Al Shaqab's Shalaa in 2017.
