A €180,000 colt from the first crop of Night Of Thunder dominated day one of the Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sale which ended this evening with a set of results that finished some way off those from the corresponding day 12 months ago.

From 49 more horses offered the turnover for the opening session dropped by 8% to just under €5.2 million. The average of €25,224 fell by 13%, while the €20,000 median represented a decrease of 17 points. In addition, the clearance rate for the day fell from 90% to 77%.
