LADY Molly Cusack-Smith’s personality certainly brightened up the West of Ireland for over three quarters of a century, especially her wit, her parties, and as the first lady to hunt the Galway Blazers Foxhounds.

Many quotes are attributed to her which she never denied, such as one published in a prominent London newspaper. After a hunt in Athenry she apparently asked a young man to hold her horse. He remarked that her horse was sweating up, to which she replied, ‘If you were between my legs for five hours you would be sweating up too’!
