TEMPLEPATRICK-based trainer Paul Traynor has amply advertised his talents over the last few months with his handling of Shumaker. He has his sights set on the Dublin Racing Festival with his stable star now after the eight-year-old ran out a clear-cut winner of the two-mile rated hurdle at Fairyhouse on Tuesday.

One of just a handful of horses under the care of Traynor, the 120-rated Shumaker was winning his fourth race of the season as he bounced back from a luckless run at Leopardstown over Christmas. The 5/4 favourite was produced by Darragh O’Keeffe to pounce at the last and he readily saw off chief market rival Future Proof to carry the day by four and a quarter lengths.
