JASON The Militant signalled that he could be set for an exciting campaign over jumps this winter as he made a successful return to action on his flat debut in the first division of the 10-furlong maiden.

A fifth winner of the season for Henry de Bromhead, who has equalled his previous best tally for a flat campaign, Jason The Militant was having his first outing since defeating Beacon Edge and Andy Dufresne in a Grade 2 novice hurdle at Naas in February. This event presented the Peter Michael-owned gelding with a different sort of test but, as good jumpers tend to, do he readily turned his hand to this discipline.
