THE Dennison family’s Loughanmore estate outside Templepatrick really is the most beautiful venue for an event and it looked particularly well last Saturday when the Northern Region of Eventing Ireland paid its annual visit to the Co Antrim farm.
One could spend hours just admiring the well-tended trees before turning your attention to the four cross-country tracks designed by Adam Stevenson. As usual, these made excellent use of the natural, and built, terrain of copses, ditches, an Irish bank and the haha which was jumped in three of the four classes, although there was a black-flag option for the EI100 level competitors.
