SUSAN Shanahan is enjoying her best season to date, and clocked up a well-deserved hat-trick in the EI 110 (J). Double-handed, with both the experienced Eisfee, and the intermediate gelding Fernhill Whisper, it was Eisfee who led the field of 23 on a mark of 26.1.

The Co Tipperary rider was also close in touch with Fernhill Whisper, and in the end was only separated when India Rogers riding the former Louise Bloomer-ridden Hollybrook Star slipped into second. The top seven all delivered double clear rounds, but there was a great balance of faults both in the show jumping and the cross-country.
