THE one-day event at Loughanmore went ahead last Saturday at the second attempt, much to the delight of two north Co Antrim riders who usually travel a lot further to compete.

There were 12 starters in the EI115 where Ian Cassells established a clear early lead following the David Lee-judged dressage phase by posting a score of 24.8 penalties on Master Point. Unfortunately, the seven-year-old Pointilliste gelding, who had racked up three EI110 wins this season, took an initial dislike to fence 13 at the far end of the cross-country course.
