IRISH eventing chef d'equipe Sally Corscadden today (Monday) announced the Irish team for this weekend's FEI Nations Cup eventing at Aachen, Germany.

The three-member Irish team is as follows:

Joseph Murphy with Sportsfield Othello (ISH) - owned by Jill Murphy, Alison Schmutz & Andrew Tinkler

Elizabeth Power with Soladoun - owned by Lynne Lyons, Kerri Lyons & Elizabeth Power

Sophie Richards with SRS Adventure (ISH) - owned by Steven Smith & Sophie Richards

Sally Corscadden said: “Team Ireland have a team of three for the Nations Cup in Aachen. We have lost a number of combinations due to minor setbacks but have three very exciting horse and rider combinations. Joseph Murphy and Sportsfield Othello (ISH) are preparing for the European Championships in Strzegom and both Elizabeth Power with Soladoun and Sophie Richards with SRS Adventure (ISH), are potential 2018 World Equestrian Games candidates. This is a fantastic opportunity to ride at a venue as prestigious as Aachen.”

The Aachen Eventing Nations Cup starts on Friday morning with the dressage phase, followed by the show jumping phase later that afternoon. The final cross-country phase will take place on Saturday.

Ireland competed at one round so far in the 2017 FEI Nations Cup Eventing series, finishing third at Tattersalls in Co Meath.
