CLARE Abbott will bring two horses to Burghley at the end of the month, Euro Prince for the CCI4* and Hamada for the five-year-old section of the young event horse final. The closely-related pair are owned by their breeders, the McKay family, and both have shown their wellbeing recently, Euro Prince finishing eighth in the CIC3* at Burgham, while his ‘nephew’ placed second at Tattersalls July Show.

On Saturday, at Vesey Lodge, Hamada, who is by Gatcombe (a son of Gatsby) recorded his second Eventing Ireland success when completing on his dressage score (28.3) in the EI100, as did the second-placed combination of David O’Connor on the five-year-old King Of Mourne gelding Tullymurry Ghost (29).
