THE heatwave has been causing a lot of problems for farmers around the country and the Doyle family from Castlecomer in Co Kilkenny have been struggling to keep the milk tank cool for their dairy enterprise.

Despite that however, James and his daughter Hannah headed to up to Rincoola on Tuesday for the final qualifier for this year’s small event horse championship at the Dublin Horse Show and came away with tickets for two full-sisters, Metalbridge Whos Who and Metalbridge Liath. Hannah rode the former, who won, while Christine O’Donnell was on board the fourth-placed Liath. Metalbridge Honey, who qualified last year under Diarmuid Ryan, failed to complete on Tuesday when Hannah was in the saddle.
