A NEW TITLE sponsor has come on board to ensure that Camphire International Horse Trials will definitely go ahead for this year.

Camphire organiser Paul Brady posted on social media today: "We are delighted to announce that The “Semalease Camphire International Horse Trials and Country Fair” 2018 will run from the 25th to 29th July. We would thank all those who have provided support to enable the Event to run this year."

Richard Ames was thanked for his support for Camphire.

The post was shared multiple times within hours, an indication of the level of interest in Camphire's fate. The popular and important fixture in the Irish eventing calendar hung in the balance due to a funding problem but now seems assured.

After the loss due to bad weather of Ballindenisk International recently, the news that a new title sponsor has been found for Camphire's survival will be widely welcomed.

Sally Parkyn will have the full story on Camphire in Saturday's Irish Field.
