A DELEGATION from the Irish Harness Racing Association travelled to Vincennes racetrack in Paris last month to make an application to join the 22-member UET, the umbrella body for European trotting. Subject to an audit, Ireland has been accepted for membership.

Mark Flanagan, a member of the delegation, told The Irish Field: “It was a fantastic weekend for Irish trotting – we found ourselves the centre of attention. Both the president of the world association and the president of France Galop were among the many to congratulate us.”
