With just days to go before the FEI European Championships for Ponies, the Co Cork town of Millstreet and the Duggan family of Green Glens are looking forward to the arrival of some of the hottest combinations in Europe. As the host nation, Ireland is represented with teams in dressage, show jumping and eventing. Along with the eventing team, eight individual event riders will also compete for a medal. Speaking ahead of the event, Horse Sport Ireland chairman Professor Pat Wall said it was a great honour to have the European Championships in Ireland.

“To watch the best riders and ponies in Europe compete, and to benchmark our riders and ponies against them, is a great opportunity. We have plenty of young riders in the national competitions who aspire to be international stars and the fact that the championships are in Millstreet this year is affording them the chance to see what it takes to get to the top,” he said. “All the national and international visitors, both participants and spectators, will have an enjoyable time in this wonderful facility created by the Duggan family.”
