FERMANAGH handler David Christie has called on racing’s authorities to step up their efforts to assist the sport’s participants during the ongoing suspension of point-to-point racing.

Prior to a hastily arranged extra maiden hunter chase at Clonmel for next Thursday, no additional hunter chases or point-to-point bumpers had been programmed on the track since the point-to-point shut down, and it is chances in maiden and winners races that Christie feels is particularly lacking at present.
