INHERITING many qualities from her father, Meta Osborne this week wrote the first line of her own piece of racing history when she became Senior Steward of the Turf Club. In that regard she also follows closely in the footsteps of Michael Osborne who was himself Senior Steward some four decades ago.

This is a significant moment in the 225-year history of racing’s regulatory body and Meta’s meteoric rise to the top, just a decade after she joined the Turf Club, is proof that the Club’s future direction is in the hands of an exceptional leader. Her professional life to-date has been one of notable achievements and accolades, and she was also the first female president of the Veterinary Council of Ireland.
