It was hardly unexpected that Brough Scott would give us all something to think about when he was chosen to be the guest speaker at the Moyglare Dinner last Saturday night. The breadth of his experience in racing is almost unmatched and he possesses the capacity to think outside the box, a quality that few can claim.

He suggested three simple and easy to effect ideas for his audience, further suggesting that Ireland could lead the way in introducing them. They were to a) include the time, and not just the prices and distances, for every race; b) make public the height and weight of runners; and c) employ more miniature head cameras on jockeys to provide the viewer with a better understanding of what is happening.
