THE past week has provided me with a couple of highlights, while the week ahead will be a challenging one, I fear, for racing.

Let me start with the latter. Thursday sees the first of three meetings of the Joint Committee on Agriculture, Food, and the Marine “to discuss recent statements about horse racing in Ireland and concerns surrounding the integrity of the sport.” My worry is not that the sport is under scrutiny, but one can already sense that the discussion will still leave questions unanswered in the minds of many.
