A THRILLING contest is in prospect for next Saturday's Coral Eclipse Stakes with 16 still entered and a mix of top older horses and three-year-olds. St James's Palace winner Barney Roy, Derby second Cliffs Of Moher and fourth Eminent, and Royal Ascot winner Permian head the three-year-olds. Of the older horses, Jack Hobbs and Decorated Knight are Group 1 winners, and Lightning Spear and Ulysses are already proven at top level.

Algometer, Deauville and the filly Blond Me are also engaged along with Ballydoyle's Orderofthegarter.

With the Derby form boosted at the Curragh at the weekend, but no clear leader among the three-year-olds, a win for Barney Roy, Cliffs Of Moher or Eminent could see them rated the top three-year-old of the season.

BETTING:

9/4 Cliffs of Moher, 7/2 Barney Roy, 9/2 Eminent, 7/1 Decorated Knight
