RACING at Dundalk was stopped after two races on Friday night following a medical emergency.

After the second race a member of the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board's security team fell ill in the parade ring. Medical personnel were quickly on the scene but the mood remained sombre as the patient was taken from the racecourse by ambulance some minutes later.

The IHRB released a short statement which read: "Due to a serious medical incident at Dundalk this evening the remainder of the card has been abandoned."

Further news will be posted when available.
