FOR the first time in almost a decade a race at Dundalk had to be voided following a dramatic and chilling incident in the mile and a half handicap from which apprentice Gavin Ryan was reported to be fully conscious and moving prior to heading to Drogheda Hospital for precautionary x-rays.

Ryan, who rode a winner earlier on the card, was riding Guided in the mile and a half handicap and took what appeared to be quite a heavy fall just over a furlong into the race.
