QUALIFIERS will take place for the Connemara Pony ridden classes at the 2020 Dublin Horse Show.

Due to the increased popularity of the Connemara classes at the RDS venue, the show will run qualifiers this season. They will run alongside the Connemara Performance Hunter and Performance Irish Draught qualifiers at the Young Event-Horse Series venues in May and early June of this year.

The top five ponies in the class at each of the four qualifying venues will be eligible to enter in the show. The qualifiers do not apply to the ridden Connemara Pony Stallion ridden class, which competitors can still enter for.

With the Dublin Horse show taking place from July 15th to 19th to accommodate international riders who will also be competing at the Tokyo Olympics Games, qualifiers will also be earlier this summer.

The qualifying dates for the ridden Connemara Pony classes, as well as the Connemara Performance Hunter and Performance Irish Draughts, take place at Scarteen, Co Limerick (May 9th), Forth Mountain, Co Wexford (May 16th), Rincoola, Co Longford (May 23rd) and Tullylish, Co Armagh (June 6th).

Online entry for the qualifiers will be available via the Young Event Horse Series Facebook page and the Dublin Horse Show website. Entries must be submitted online by 5pm on the Monday preceding the qualifier.

Further scheduling details in relation the qualifiers will be available in due course.
