THE point-to-point season resumed with the Duhallow/Kanturk meeting on Monday at Dromahane where Mick Goff’s Clondaw Bertie (5/1) recorded a sublime debut success in the first division of the four-year-old geldings’ maiden.

The son of Thewayyouare was held up off the pace set by The Silent Trainer and Dare To Begin, before making an eye-catching move by surging through the field with Shane Fitzgerald after the fourth last of the 13 obstacles to pick up the running. He was well in command from two out and, with closest pursuer Tullybeg falling at the last when held in second spot, the Co Wexford challenger accounted for Get Your Own by an easy 12 lengths.
