A RESURGENT Space Cadet sprang one of the biggest surprises in the recent history of the Randox Health Ulster National as he gave Dublin-born amateur jockey Ben Harvey his first success on the track while crediting trainer Gearoid O’Loughlin with the most lucrative victory of his career.

Earlier in the month O’Loughlin bagged his most significant victory to date when the very promising Cedarwood Wood won at listed level at Naas. A fortnight on he produced the revitalised Space Cadet in rare order to claim this €50,000 prize which attracted a field worthy of its substantially enhanced purse.
