IF building for the future is your thing (isn’t it everyone’s?), and if two-year-olds are the cornerstones of that future for racehorse trainers, then last weekend was some weekend for Aidan O’Brien.

On Friday he won the Rockfel Stakes with Just Wonderful. On Saturday, he won the Cheveley Park Stakes with Fairyland and the Middle Park Stakes with Ten Sovereigns, and he had the one-two-three in the Royal Lodge Stakes with Mohawk, Sydney Opera House and Cape Of Good Hope. Then on Sunday at Naas, he had the one-two in the Beresford Stakes with Japan and Mount Everest, and he won the opening maiden with newcomer Magnia Grecia, and the Weld Park Stakes with Hermosa.
