IRISH-TRAINED horses have won four of the last 10 renewals of the Sky Bet Ebor, and five of the last 11, and that record in one of the most competitive handicaps on the British racing calendar could be enhanced today.

There are just two Irish representatives, but both have chances. True Self ran well for a very long way in last year’s renewal. Willie Mullins’ mare travelled like the most likely winner to the three-furlong marker that day. She made nice ground on the far side for Donnacha O’Brien, and she was the only horse still on the bridle as they raced to the two-furlong marker.
