PUNTERS had to deal with a bit of a Cambridgeshire curveball on Thursday when declarations were in and Frankie Dettori’s name appeared beside Magical Morning, not beside Uncle Bryn. The market took note and, at least for now, John and Thady Gosden have two (joint) favourites, not one.

John Gosden and the Cambridgeshire have deep history together. It was in 1994 that the trainer won his first Cambridgeshire with Halling, a then 93-rated three-year-old who would go on to win two Eclipses and two Juddmonte Internationals.
