DOGS Trust has rehomed over 20,000 dogs since 2011 and now thanks to their new nationwide regional rehoming programme, Ireland’s largest dog welfare charity hopes to rehome even more dogs throughout the country.

In the past, Dogs Trust was quite restricted in their rehoming capabilities, having only one rehoming centre located in Dublin, however their aim was always to look at different ways to reach the wider country and rehome more dogs. When the Covid-19 pandemic hit and travel restrictions were put in place, the charity had to re-evaluate their rehoming procedures, and this gave them the perfect opportunity to set up their new regional rehoming programme.
