IRELAND’s Damien Dixon and the 10-year-old French-bred Quelqu’un des Mets were crowned the new champions of Romand after enjoying a top drawer win in Switzerland last weekend. The win is all the more special as the horse was hit with a mystery virus two years ago that nearly claimed his life.

Dixon and Cloude Marguerat’s horse jumped the only double clear to clinch victory in the final of the prestigious competition which was held last Sunday in Geneva. The runner-up was Yann Gerber and Soleil de Lys KM while Romain Jucker was third (Carl Lewis).
