FOR the sixth time in seven years Aidan O’Brien struck gold in the Group 2 Juddmonte Beresford Stakes but the result wasn’t one that many expected. It was the stable third string Port Doulas who carried the day to give jockey Emmet McNamara the biggest victory of his career.

Port Douglas was allowed to go off at 14/1 having been beaten in a Leopardstown conditions race and a stakes race at Tipperary on his last two starts.
