JASSAAR flew down the outside of the 25 runners in the Tote Irish Cambridgeshire last night to claim his second big handicap victory of the season at the Curragh for 5lb claimer Andrew Slattery and trainer Dermot Weld.

The four-year-old Dansili gelding, racing in the colours of his breeder Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum, was not without support and was sent off at 10/1 for the mile premier handicap. In a bunched finish, Current Option and Nathan Crosse looked to have sealed victory as they burst through runners inside the final furlong to grab the lead but Jassaar was gathering a head of steam for his young jockey and his momentum carried him through for a three-quarters of a length success from Current Option with favourite Numerian a head behind in third.
