FAMOUS Milly could bid for Grade 1 glory in the Finale Juvenile Hurdle at Chepstow over Christmas should the ground come up heavy.

Trainer Gavin Cromwell will give his four-year-old filly an entry in the race won 12 months ago by Defi Du Seuil, who went on to land the Triumph Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.

Famous Milly staked a claim for top honours when making light of the gruelling conditions to run away with a listed event at Aintree on Saturday.

"She handles the testing ground very well," said Cromwell.

"We're going to give her an entry at Chepstow in the Grade 1. The ground could possibly be very testing, so we'll have a look at the entries and see."

CORAL WELSH GRAND NATIONAL

Raz De Maree is all set for another crack at the Coral Welsh Grand National on December 27th.

The 12-year-old ran a tremendous race to finish second to Native River in the Chepstow showpiece 12 months ago and is only 1lb higher this year.

He warmed up for another tilt at the marathon handicap chase with an encouraging run to finish second in a handicap hurdle over three miles at Southwell earlier this month.

"He ran a cracker in Southwell," said the Navan handler.

"I was very happy with him on ground that was plenty quick enough for him. Over that trip, he was flat to the boards all the way.

"He ran a great race so it's Chepstow next."
