LAST Sunday’s Southern Region meeting took place on the estuary sandbank in the picturesque village of Courtmacsherry in West Cork where Philip Byrnes took the featured Lislee Derby on his mother Cora’s Bash It On.

Philip held the winner up at the back of the field for most of the journey as Mr Bush tried to make all the running, a tactic that looked likely to succeed with two furlongs to run as the veteran still held a three-length lead.
