TOP sprinter Cotai Glory will stand at Tally-Ho Stud in Mullingar, Co Westmeath, next year. His fee has been set at €6,000.

As a two-year-old he won the Group 3 Molecomb Stakes and looked certain to win the Group 2 Flying Childers before losing his jockey just before the finishing line. He was considered good enough to take on his elders in the Prix de l’Abbaye that season and went on to race a total of 30 times over four seasons.

He retires sound, having consistently ran at the top level and broken three track records in his career. His trainer Charlie Hills, who recently has been associated with many top-class sprinters, described him as “the fastest two-year-old I’ve trained.”

Tony O’Callaghan of Tally-Ho said: “We have been following Cotai Glory ever since he broke the two-year-old track record at Glorious Goodwood over five furlongs and we are delighted to have secured him.

“With Danetime and Kodiac, we have already enjoyed a lot of success at Tally-Ho with Danehill-line stallions and we very much feel that Cotai Glory ticks all the boxes. We will be supporting him strongly over the coming years.”

Also new to Tally-Ho next year is the 2000 Guineas and St James’s Palace Stakes winner Galileo Gold, whose fee has been set at €15,000. Kodiac remains at €50,000 and Vadamos stays at €10,000. There are 20% reductions for Mehmas (€10,000) and Morpheus (€4,000).
