PAUL Townend moved to the five-winner mark for the season at Cork last Friday where the five-time champion jockey combined with trainers Henry de Bromhead and Charles O’Brien for a double.

Townend, who returned from a foot injury on July 5th, began with a substitutes ride on the de Bromhead-trained Gloire D’Athon (8/13 favourite) in CorkRacecourse.ie Maiden Hurdle, filling in for suspended Rachael Blackmore on the Cheveley Park Stud-owned gelding who comfortably won by seven lengths.
