ONCE again, the lure of competing in the Connemara performance hunter championships at next month’s Dublin Horse Show drew a large entry to Saturday’s qualifier at Rincoola, which was hosted by Harold and Margaret McGahern.

Both classes were divided, although the numbers forward for the five to seven-year-old division was nearly twice that of the eight to 15-year-old class where, in Section B, Emily McQuade riding Twilight Oscar finished ahead of Megan Telford-Kelly on Fond Of A Drop, reversing their placings in the recent CCI* for ponies at Tattersalls.
