Breaking from tradition to cater for the popularity of Tattersalls, dressage took place on Wednesday and Thursday with cross-country being staged on Friday. These phases worked out well but the same cannot be said about Saturday’s show jumping which more or less developed into a free-for-all.

It was a baptism of fire for Catherine Dunne, who was show jumping co-ordinator for the first time, and commentator Paul Nolan as there was seemingly no order in which horses were jumped.
