NEWMARKET winners Churchill and Winter remain on course to complete Guineas doubles at the Curragh this weekend.

The preliminary entries for both days of the Tattersalls Irish Guineas Festival were released at lunchtime on Tuesday and, predictably, trainer Aidan O'Brien has a very strong hand in both classics.

Churchill heads six O'Brien-trained colts still engaged in Saturday's Irish 2000 Guineas. There are only three entries from other stables - Glastonbury Song (Ger Lyons), Irishcorrespondent (Michael Halford) and Thunder Snow (Saeed bin Suroor).

The filly Winter is one of eight O'Brien-trained entries remaining in Sunday's Irish 1000 Guineas. Stable companion and Newmarket runner-up Rhododendron is still engaged but is expected to wait for the Oaks at Epsom on Friday week. There is a total of 13 fillies in the race but none are trained outside Ireland.

Also on next Sunday's card is the Group 1 Tattersalls Gold Cup for older horses and this 10-furlong race looks at the mercy of Minding, yet another O'Brien stable star. Decorated Knight, trained by Roger Charlton, is the only entry from outside Ireland.

Irish 2000 Guineas betting: 1/3 Churchill, 5 Irishcorrespondent, 10 Thunder Snow, 12 Lancaster Bomber, 14 War Decree, 16 Orderofthegarter, 20 Glastonbury Song, Spirit Of Valor, 50 Pipes Of Peace.
