THERE was stiff competition for the centrepiece of day three but pride of place must go Frodon and Bryony Frost for their heroics in the Ryanair Chase.

Beforehand this looked a terrific renewal of the penultimate day’s feature and the race itself and the aftermath more than lived up to expectations. Frodon produced a marvellous display up front as he measured one fence after another with aplomb to draw many murmurings of approval from the crowd. Beforehand much of the attention focussed on the Irish challenge, but the winner was a worthy one after producing a flawless effort.
