ALTIOR will be one of the biggest bankers at Cheltenham in recent years as he bids for back-to-back wins in the Queen Mother Champion Chase, while at the same time equalling the record set by Big Buck’s as he aims for an 18th consecutive victory over obstacles.

Should he win as expected, he will be joining an exclusive list of horses who have won the Champion Chase on multiple occasions, but unlike the Champion Hurdle and Gold Cup, those to have won what is often the most compelling contest at Cheltenham aren’t necessarily given the credit they deserve by the sport’s historians.
