CHELTENHAM is everywhere, so I always knew it was a big deal. My favourite race was any one of Quevega’s six wins, especially her last race – she was a fantastic racehorse. Cheltenham creates a new set of memories each year. They are such amazing days. I’ve been going for over 30 years. It’s incredibly hectic but brilliant. I love it. By the end of the week though you’re nearly running on adrenaline and fumes.

Most mornings, I go down to where the horses are exercising and then I get breakfast and begin my day properly. When I was younger I used to go out in the evenings but, with everything turning digital, my evenings are jam-packed. I have to stay in, sorting through pictures, captioning them and making sure everything is OK. It’s a completely different job now in the sense that you’ve to take a lot more pictures than you had to before. All the editing – it takes hours and hours.
